Conflux Festival

If there were such a thing as the Psychogeographic Olympics, the Conflux festival would be it. And Williamsburg would be its shining Olympic village. This annual, category-defying event is a nexus of urban analyists, eco-thinkers, metrographers and artists who converge on New York City to do their joyful lab work. One of its many intentions is to get people to consider more widely and deeply the place around them and themselves in it. And what better place to conduct arty exploration than Williamsburg? This is, after all, not simply a gallery district but an art habitat and as such embraces creativity well beyond the bounds of poetry and picture-making. This land allows free-thinking. And so, Confluxers from around the world will alight on these teeming streets for four days and do their thing with more than mere entertainment on their itinerary. Sure, they'll swing on trapezes, take you on tours, and get you dirty, but really, what they want to do is help you change your mind ... for the better.
