November Art Tours

November Art Tours This November presents numerous opportunites for a fall gallery stroll, with art events aplenty throughout Brooklyn. Aside from your favorite monthly neighborhood events— “Dumbo 1st Thursday,” “Williamsburg Every Second Friday,” and Brooklyn Museum’s “First Saturday”— this month you can also look forward to “Bushwick Beta Spaces,” featuring hundreds of young artists showing works in their studios, apartments, sidewalks and storefronts. And later this month don’t miss the massive “smART Brooklyn Gallery Hop” featuring over 69 galleries throughout Brooklyn.

For the more adventurous, “Bushwick Beta Spaces” offers a chance to see the artists in their natural habitat, possibly even in their bathrooms and living rooms. On Saturday, November 8, from 12-7 all sorts of areas in a ten block radius of Bushwick will be converted into de facto galleries and exhibition spaces. For more information check out the website www.betaspaces.starkandnimo.com

The neighborhoods of Dumbo and Williamsburg have their respective monthly artwalk evenings in which the galleries all stay open late, but what about everyone else? Now you can visit them all during Brooklyn Tourism’s second annual “smART Brooklyn Gallery Hop,” weekend, November 21st-22nd from 1-6. With 69 galleries, almost every gallery in Brooklyn is participating, and there will be shuttle busses running two different loops between the galleries. If you haven’t made it out Red Hook, or Gowanus, Sunset Park or Bed-Sty, this is your chance. Details are available at www.visitbrooklyn.org
